If any bands have any ideas, or would like to be involved with my fundraising in some way (maybe with a collection at a gig, for example), then please email me at: info [at] guitars4good.co.uk

I will give you a shout out on my Twitter and Facebook music pages, as well as giving you a mention on this website, the JD Music website, the Guitars 4 Good website and Stuart Cable’s tribute website.

So a bit of FREE PROMO in return for your help.

Yesterday I collected these bad boys ... the 50 limited editions CDs containing 2 awesome tracks from Stuart Cable's band Killing for Company.

You can hear both tracks on the www.jdmusicpromo.com website on their Soundcloud link:

'Surrender' is the main track

Release date 19th May, all proceeds to charity.

It's my first CD cover design and the boys let me put the JD Music logo on the back cover (well Darran's been on CD covers loads of times, but when else am I ever going to be on one?) :)

What Mr Roy Thomas says in the comment below is one of the reasons that I wanted to do something to honour Stuart and his charity work. He did a lot which people don’t actually know about.

He also pushed himself physically for the sake of charity, for example, doing the Nos Galan 5km road races on New Year’s Eve 2008, the Sports Relief Mile in March 2010, and only a few days before he died he had completed a gruelling charity cycle challenge. With 5 other men Stuart took 5 days to cycle the coastline of Wales, travelling distances of over 50 miles a day.

Roy J. Thomas, Chairman of Donate Wales and the Kidney Wales Foundation, said:

“Stuart was a fine man who really cared about Wales and his community. Much of his charitable work was hidden with his humility. He did so much including our Donate Wales campaign by taking part in dinners and adverts for us. There was something as we would say “addfwyn” about him.

Stuart was a great communicator and managed to touch the hearts of those in need. Patients liked him as he was so warm . Wales will be a poorer place without him.”

(‘Addfwyn’ is Welsh for ‘gentle’).

Killing For Company’s track ‘Surrender’ will be out 6 weeks today on Stuart’s birthday, May 19th.

Abercarn (Caerphilly) company Dischromatics Limited have generously offered to press 50 CDs, full colour with inlays, of the charity fundraising track 'Surrender' by Killing for Company.

This means we will have 50 Limited Edition CDs to offer ... great news for the charity fundraising.

JD Music and Killing for Company will be honouring Stuart’s birthday, 19th May, with the release of ‘Surrender’, a superb track from the album ‘Lost Art of Deception’. Everything about the track is perfection: the song itself, the musicianship, Greg’s vocals, are all second to none.

Stuart was very proud of the album and it was due for release the week of his passing. Out of respect the band pulled the album release and so it’s never been properly heard other than via the band’s Soundcloud. We want to rectify this.

Apart from honouring what should have been Stuart’s 46th birthday, we will also be honouring the fact that he did a lot for charity by donating any proceeds from the sale of the track to Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice which was a charity close to Stuart’s heart.

I have a lot of work to do now to get this track heard as much as possible (well that won’t actually be hard as it’s such a great track!), but I also have to get it publicised anywhere and everywhere I can.

Obviously I am giving my time for free to do the promotion for this fundraising 'event' and I am very excited to be a part of this both on a personal level and a promotional level.

I've had my ‘letter of authority’ from Tŷ Hafan which I can attach to my emails, so we’re good to go!

JD Music Promotion ( www.jdmusicpromo.com ) has some great new tracks to promote.

Not new to music, but new to the public, is Ryan Webb with a really catchy soft rock track called 'Journey' and we also have the latest release from Killing for Company. Some of you will know of Killing For Company as they are the band put together by ex-Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable. Their new track is 'We Don't Need to Know'.

You can check both the above out on the JD Music Promotion page on this website.

(P.S. - FYI It's Killing For Company's Greg Jones who features at the top of the home page of PP&P)
